Nicholas Norvell, DDS, MDS, CDT

I was born and raised right here in Wilson County. This community is in my bones. Dentistry wasn’t always the plan, but everything changed the day I watched a woman in recovery receive a full-mouth restoration. I’ll never forget her reaction: the shift in her body, the light in her face. It wasn’t just about teeth, it was about dignity, identity, and a future she could finally believe in. That moment stuck with me. I knew I wanted to be part of that kind of transformation for others.

I opened Restoration Dentistry with that vision in mind: to create a place where people feel seen, respected, and cared for on every level. A place where advanced treatment is delivered with humanity, and where patients don’t feel like numbers in a system. We’ve grown a lot since opening, but that core mission hasn’t changed.

Whether I’m treating patients in my hometown practice, serving alongside the Navy across the globe, or teaching the next generation of dentists, I know the ripple effect matters. One person restored, one community supported, one student inspired… it adds up to something bigger than any single procedure or place.

Locally Grown, Nationally Trained

After graduating from Friendship Christian School in Lebanon, I completed both my dental degree and residency in prosthodontics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. That’s where I learned the technical side of transformational dentistry – the art and science behind rebuilding smiles that are both functional and beautiful. I’m proud to now share that expertise right here at home.

The Heart Behind Restoration Dentistry

I founded Restoration Dentistry in 2019 because I believed there was a better way to care for people. We combine modern prosthodontics with a deeply personalized experience, giving patients access to high-end treatment in a space that feels calm, honest, and grounded. From single-tooth implants to full-mouth reconstructions, everything we do is about restoring more than just smiles. It’s about restoring confidence, peace of mind, and long-term health.

Beyond the Chair

Outside of clinical care, I serve in the U.S. Navy Reserve, teach dental students and residents at Meharry and UTHSC, and speak nationally to other dentists. I’m also a journal reviewer, a lab technician, and a firm believer in continuing education both for myself and for the profession. Most importantly, I’m a husband and a father of four. I understand how precious time and trust are. My goal is to make sure every patient who walks through our doors feels the difference.
